There are words that can bring you down as there that can bring you back.
That night I blacked out. I´m not sure at which point I lost control but I do recall having felt incredibly relaxed and unhibited. I even started questioning the existence of God.
After I regained consciousness I began to cry a lot, mostly over my grandfather who had passed away a few years ago. Edie and another friend held me tight and took me upstairs. Then she continued to undress me and tossed me in the shower. Some minutes later I was resting peacefully in my own bed where I slept for a few hours.
I blame it on the bad liquor and the insane amount of stress I was under. These things hardly ever happened to me and hated myself for that.
But Edie wasn´t mad at me at all; she acted like an angel. She said, "Oh, great! I´m so glad you´re okay!"
"I don´t remember much," I said gasping, "except for the weeping part."
"Yeah, well," she said as she sat on the bed, "we were talking about when you were growing up back in Elyria. I think there was something we shouldn´t have said or something."
"This season always gets me so emotional. I guess I couldn´t contain myself anymore."
"It doesn´t matter, Adrian. It´s in the past. I´m glad you got it out of your system. Maybe you repressed it for too long."
"Way too long. What time is it?"
"About eleven in the morning. I let you sleep in since it´s Sunday. Can I bring you anything?"
"No, it´s alright. I feel nauseous."
"At least let me get you some water."
"You love me too much. I don´t deserve someone like you."
"Don´t worry about it! Next time try not to drink when you´re feeling down; it gets worse."
"I´m not gonna be doing it in a long time."

Spitting out the poison

I was too weak to do anything. I stared at my phone like a zombie for hours. The Year of the Rabbit had begun.
